As an extension to its design services for premium packaging, MPS recently installed the CubeX Duo 3D print system at its design studio in Scotland and now offers customers printed plastic models in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. The new prototyping capabilities translate product and packaging concepts into tangible models, helping customers visualize the complete product experience. Virtually any 3D object can be printed directly from digital files, reducing the traditional production time from weeks to hours and eliminating the need for expensive test molds, the company reports. 3D printing offers customers more freedom to explore design options and make alterations without compromising product launch schedules.
